Fleur East's "Sax" is a Sassy Sister to "Uptown Funk": Listen

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" is one of the year's biggest hits, and its influence is greatly felt in the extremely promising debut single by Fleur East

Fleur East is a London-based singer who came in second place on the UK's X Factor last year. She actually had her breakout moment when she covered "Uptown Funk," which served as her signature performance on the show and likely the reason Simon Cowell rushed to sign her to his Syco Records label.

Nearly a year after the show wrapped, she has her first single with "Sax," a bumping, funky track with loads of personality and James Brown-esque yelps. But this the feminine take on the funk reveals a much smoother delivery on the chorus, and a heavy helping of sass.

"Sax" was just released overseas, and we have a feeling it won't be too long until we begin hearing this everywhere stateside.
